OUR MISSION

Loving Heart Hospice Foundation's mission is to provide financial assistance for qualified low-income patients and their families who need services that support quality at end of life.

Because of your generous donation to the Foundation, we have been able to reach out to those in need by providing:

• Caregiver Relief
• Respite Care in a Skilled Nursing Facility
• Grief Counseling
• Medications not covered by Insurance
• Cremation or Funeral Expenses
• General Hospice Education
• Continuing Education for Medical Staff emphasizing Hospice Care
• Several free bereavement counseling sessions throughout Ventura County
• A community volunteer program that trains both office and patient volunteers
• Production of a Spanish language hospice brochure

In thanking you, I want you to know just how much your gift means.  My mother died exactly one year ago today, October 12, 2009.  My parents were married 65 years and had one of those amazing romances that began during WWII.  Almost immediately after my mother’s death, my father began experiencing mini strokes and loss of lower body strength.  He came to Moorpark Health Care for physical therapy and rehabilitation but because of his aggressively declining health he has remained there as a hospice patient.  Sadly, as October 1^st all my father’s insurance benefits, checking, savings and CD accounts have been depleted.  And it is only because of the Loving Heart Hospice Foundation that my 88 year old father is able to remain at Moorpark health Care.  Without your generosity, moving my father to a different and unfamiliar facility would have been inevitable.  It would have been devastating and extremely heart breaking.

I am thanking everyone at the Loving Heart Hospice Foundation with my whole heart and soul for being available to someone like my father. Thank you for the gift of his last days living in the home where everyone is familiar to him, where he feels secure, safe and loved.  I am indebted to everyone at Loving Heart for their generous and loving hearts.
